Single Led charging indicator - Three-color LED charging indicator
The device you are seeing, is an instrument that is designed to show you at all times the simplest the state of your motorcycle's charging system.
For the display, it use a three-color LED, and not a digital display, so as not to distract the driver and because any form of analog display is more immediately understandable and perceptible to the human brain!
The three colors indicate the following:
Blue color: undervoltage, battery voltage is below 11.9 - 11.7 V.
Green color: Proper operation, the battery voltage is between 11.7-11.9 to 14.6-14.9 V, indicating that the charging circuit is working properly.
Red color: Overcharge, battery voltage exceeds 14.6-14.9 V.
If the Red LED is constantly on during the operation of the motorcycle, you should turn off the engine of the motorcycle and visit the nearest workshop as the charging system of the motorcycle does not work properly and the battery is overcharged.
It is normal for the engine to turn on the Blue LED when the engine is off, but when the engine is running, it should turn on the green LED.
If the engine is running and the Blue LED is on, the charging system does not work at all and the battery does not charge. In this case you should visit the nearest workshop as the engine will run (depending on the motorcycle) as long as the battery is still on.
Connecting the device is very easy, as all you need to do is connect the orange or red cable to a point in the circuit of the motorcycle that is powered after the main switch is turned on. Indicatively, this could be the circuit of the small lights (position), since in most modern motorcycles this works continuously as soon as we turn on the main switch. The gray or black cable is connected to the chassis of the motorcycle (negative). Ideally, the LED is placed in a place that does not come into direct contact with the driver's eyes, so as not to disturb.
A 6 mm hole is enough for installation, and after installing the LED base, simply plug the LED into the base. Optionally, you could use some kind of glue (petrol glue or silicone) for a more stable application.
