Description
New, barrel cover for 880/880s/7880 Daisy Powerline air rifles. This is the outer cover for the barrel, it is part #2 in the diagram. This is stamped made in china, so markings will be different than older model 880's that were made in the US. It will not fit 880's with metal side covers without modification. Additional note from an eBay customer and fellow Daisy enthusiast that purchased this part:
"The new-style barrel shroud is not perfectly compatible with older (circa 1986) 880's, straight out of the box. The openings/slots on the right and left sides of the OLD-style shroud- which accept the tab-like hooks on the insides of the forearm side covers- are twice as tall, as those same openings, on the NEW-style shroud. This prevents the forearm covers from sliding back into place, during reassembly. My solution, was to use a narrow file to increase the openings' size (to a height of almost the mid-point of the shroud), which then allowed for a complete reassembly. The process did take a little time- and a few test-fittings to get right, but the end-result is a perfect-fit."
