    1791 MANUSCRIPT DOCUMENT APPOINTING WILLIAM CAMPBELL ESQUIRE TO BE THE FIRST TREASURER OF OTSEGO COUNTY, NY, AT THE FIRST ANNUAL MEETING OF THE SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF OTSEGO, HELD AT THE HOUSE OF WILLIAM ELLISON IN COOPERSTOWN, ON MAY 31st, 1791.
    Single sheet, laid paper, 4.5 x 7.75 inches, with manuscript docket on verso. Very good condition, with creasing and short tears at old folds. An interesting historical document appointing the county’s first treasurer, from the first meeting of the supervisors, just a few months after the establishment of Otsego County on February 16, 1791 (with Cooperstown, NY the county seat).
